Mika Brzezinski on Miley Cyrus

TheWrap
Miley Cyrus' teddy bear-filled, crotch-grabbing performance at MTV's Video Music Awards got people talking, though "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski was talking through a look of disgust.
A scantily clad Cyrus performed against a backdrop of twerking stuffed animals.
"I wouldn't make a joke of it, actually," she scolded co-host Joe
Scarborough, who continuously tried to interrupt her. "I thought that was really, really disturbing. That young lady, who is 20, is obviously deeply troubled, deeply disturbed, clearly has confidence issues, probably has an eating disorder. And
I don't think anybody should've put her up onstage. That was disgusting and embarrassing."
Scarborough got a word in to say he's the father of two boys.
"They don't think that's attractive, Miley," Brzezinski said. "Nobody does, actually."
"That was not fun, that was not funny, and that was really, really bad for anybody who's younger and impressionable," Brzezinski continued, talking over Scarborough's slow clapping. "And she's really messed up, so I don't think they should've put her onstage. They should be ashamed of themselves."
"She is a mess. Someone needs to take care of her," Brzezinski concluded.
Scarborough blamed the "Britney-fication of American culture" for the scene, apparently forgetting that past VMA moments included Prince performing in a body suit with the butt cut out, Lil Kim's almost entirely exposed breast and Madonna being Madonna.
